4 die in road accidents
Our Correspondent from Tangail reports: A retired college teacher was killed in a road accident at Old Bus Stand area in the town yesterday.
The victim was identified as Joydev Shaha, 60, a resident of Sabalia area in Tangail town and also a retired teacher of History Department of Govt Sa'adat College in Karatia.

Police and witnesses said the accident took place when a Gazipur-bound passenger bus from Tangail crushed Joydev Shaha under its wheels while he was crossing a road at Old Bus Stand area at around 11:30am leaving him seriously injured.
Locals immediately rushed him to Tangail General Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
Police took the body to Tangail Sadar Police Station.
Police seized the bus but its driver and helper, however, managed to escape.
A case was filed with Tangail Sadar Police Station in this regard.
After the accident, vehicles movement on Tangail-Gazipur road was disrupted for one hour as angry people put up barricade on the road protesting the accident.
Our correspondent from Satkhira reports: An old man was killed in a road accident at Nalta Ghorapota in Kaliganj upazila on Satkhira-Kaliganj road yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Mandar Gazi, 80, of village Bederati in Debhata upazila.
Quoting local people police said, a truck hit Mandar Gazi while he was crossing the road. He succumbed to his injuries on the way to Satkhira Hospital.
The vehicular movement was disrupted on the road for about two hours as the agitated people put up barricade on the road.
Unb from Bagerhat adds: Two people were killed in separate road accidents in the district on Friday night.
Police said a day labourer died instantly when he fell down from the rooftop of a running bus at Amtala on Bagerhat-Morelganj road.
The deceased was identified as Alam, 30, of Guabaria village in Morejganj upazila.
Meanwhile, van-puller Mokhlesur Rahman, 40, was crushed under the wheels of a speedy bus on Bagerhat-Pirojpur road near Fatepur bazar. He died on the spot.
Police sent the bodies to hospital morgue for autopsy.
