4 killed, 6 hurt in road accidents

At least four people were killed and six injured in separate road accidents in Feni and Barisal yesterday.

Bdnews from Feni says, at least three people were killed and six others injured in a road accident yesterday at Mohammad Ali Bazar area in Feni.

Police said the mishap occurred on Dhaka-Chittagong highway when a private car, a van and a goods-loaded truck collided each other.

Two people were killed on the spot while another succumbed to his injuries at hospital. The injured were rushed to the Feni Sadar Hospital and local clinics.

The local people seized all the vehicles and handed over to the police.

Road blocked after old man crushed under wheels in Barisal.

Our Barisal Correspondent reports, A pedestrian was crushed under the wheels of a running bus on Swarupkati-Banaripara road yesterday.

The victim was identified as Moslem Ali Fakir, 65,of Jhalakathi.

Witnesses and family sources said Moslem came to Banaripara to visit his relatives.

The accident occurred when he was trying to cross the road at T and T More of Banaripara under Barisal district.

The Moslem's body was sent to Barisal Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

The traffic was disrupted for an hour as the agitated people put up barricade on the road following the accident.

Traffic movement resumed at about 1-30pm after the police brought the situation under control.

A case has been lodged in this connection with Banaripara Police station.
