4 killed in road accidents

UNB from Sylhet reports: Two college students were killed and another injured critically in a road accident on Sylhet-Goainghat road yesterday.

The deceased were identified as Sadat Hossain of Golapganj upazila and Kabir Hossain of Goainghat upazila.

The victims are students of Sylhet Government MC College.

Witnesses said the accident occurred when a bus rammed a Sylhet-bound motorcycle, leaving Sadat Hossain dead on the spot and Kabir Hossain and another student injured.

Kabir succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital.

The critically injured student was taken to Sylhet Osmani Hospital. His identity could not be known immediately.

Our Correspondent from Nilphamari: At least two people were killed and 15 others injured when a over-loaded minibus collided head-on with a loaded truck on the Kishoreganj-Rangpur road at Magura in Kishoreganj upazila here.Police and witnesses said the accident occurred when a truck hit the Rangpur-bound minibus from Kishoreganj from behind at Magura area at 9:30am, leaving two people on the spot and 15 others injured.

The dead were identified as Azaharul, 45, of Monthana village and Abu Taleb, 32, of Kalikapur village.

Of the injured, three were sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH) in critical condition. The injured are Ekabbar, 21, of Tengonmari village of Jaldhaka upazila, Solaiman, 42, Putimari village and Shibu Nath of Kosba village of Kishoreganj upazila. Other injured were admitted to Kishoreganj and Jaldhaka upazila health complexes.

Police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies to Nilphamari District Hospital for autopsy.
