5 addicts, drug peddler held in Chittagong

Acting on a tip off, a team of Rab-7 of Chittagong raided a shop owned by an alleged drug peddler Ali Asgar on the second floor of city's Chawk Super Market at Chawkbazaar under Kotowali Police Station on Saturday night.

Rab members held five addicts red handed while taking drugs and arrested drug peddler Ali Asgar, son of late Sher Ali of Hulain under Patiya.

They also seized three grams of heroin in three sachets, two Pathedrine injections, two Toorux injections, TK 6000 they got from selling drugs and other tools used for taking heroin.

The arrestees were identified as Md Yasin Chowdhury of Chandgaon, Md Aminul Hoque of Machuajharna lane of Kotowali, Md Sahab Uddin of Alampur of Hathajari, Mamunur Rashid of Dewan Nagar of Hathajari and Gias Uddin of Chunartal of Changaon.

In interrogation Asgar confessed that he had been involved in drug peddling for a long, said a Rab press release yesterday.
