6 killed in road accidents
Our Correspondent from Comilla reports: Three unidentified bus passengers were killed and at least 35 others injured in a road accident at Putia under Daudkandi upazila on Dhaka-Chittagong highway yesterday.
Witnesses and police said theaccident occurred when a Dhaka-bound passenger bus coming from Chittagong tried to overtake another Dhaka bound covert van at Putia area on Dhaka-Chittagong highway at around 1.30pm.

Three unidentified bus passengers died on the spot, while 35 others injured said.
Police seized both the bus and covert van but the drivers managed to escape.
BDNews from Chittagong adds: One person was killed in a road mishap on Chittagong-Jessore Road at Shitalpur in Chittagong.
The identity of the killed pick-up van driver could not be known immediately.
Police and witnesses said the accident occurred when a truck hit a fish-laden pick-up van on Chittagong-Jessore road at about 7.00am.
The van driver died on the spot.
The van was going to Chittagong loading fishes from Jessore.
Meanwhile, an old man was killed in a road accident on Kishoreganj-Bhairab road in the district yesterday.
The dead was identified as Budhai Mia of Belabo Police Station under Narsingdi.
Police and witnesses said the road accident occurred when a BRTC passenger bus hit Budhai Mia while he was crossing the road.
UNB from Brahmanbaria reports: A college girl was killed in a road accident on Comilla-Sylhet road at Bhadughar in the town yesterday.
Police said Nasima Akhter, 17, a student of Brahmanbaria Govt. College, died on the spot when a truck knocked her down on the road.
