Action against whip Ashraf protested
Nine ruling party leaders of Khulna city yesterday protested the announcement of Whip of the Parliament Ashraf Hossain by some BNP leaders as unwanted in the district, says a press release.
In a statement, they said people of walks of life specially Khalishpur, Daulatpur and Khan Jahan Ali thana units do not accept the announcement of the so-called convener committee of Khulna city BNP and joint secretary general of central BNP.
They also said Ashraf is a devoted and uncompromising leader of Khulna and also elected in Khulna-3 constituency for four consecutive times.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. They also said the convener committee that was rejected by 95 per cent leaders of the party, has no right to take any political decision.
"It is ridiculous that this so called convener committee also announced Nazrul Islam Monju as unwanted and we also condemn the defamatory report published in the newspapers on Ashraf and Monju", the press release added.
