Adivasi poetry festival held

The festival was organised by Adivasi Kabba Shilpa Niketan to observe their third founding anniversary.

Poet Samudra Gupta inaugurated the function with 'Niketan' president Jatha Tudu in the chair.

More than one hundred adivasi poets and artists from different parts of the country attended the function and about twenty-five poets recited their poems based on adivasi life, culture, tradition, grief and cultural threat on adivasi dialect.

Among others, Desh Mazhi, Pitar Marandi, Jhon Kisku, Santila Hembram, poet Purabi Jafer, Hamidul Haque, dance artist Bazlur Rahman Badal and poet Sirajudowla Baher performed in the festival.

Barshapara village wore a festive and colourful look on the occasion of the festival.

Most of the adivasi houses were decorated with traditional colours, wall paintings and flowers.
