Ahsania Mission Cancer Hospital Lottery draw held

The draw of the Ahsania Mission Cancer Hospital Lottery was held in the city yesterday.

The Dhaka Ahsania Mission organised the lottery programme to raise funds for the construction of a cancer hospital in the city.

Ticket No.-Chha 0246766 won the first prize of Tk 30 lakh while the second prize of Tk five lakh went to the Ticket No.-Ka 0327910.

Ticket No.-Jha 0323372 got the third prize of Tk 75,000 and ticket Nos.-Yeon 0636354 and Jha 0914747 won the fourth prize of Tk 20,000. The fifth prize of Tk 10,000 went to ticket Nos.-Ga 0704835, Ja 0570788 and Ja 0132175.

Imrul Chowdhury, a lottery specialist, conducted the draw at the National Press Club where a total of 1298 prize-wining numbers were selected.

Seven girl students of the Urban Community Learning Centre of Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) picked the wining numbers of first six prizes while the remaining numbers were selected through computer.

Speaking as the chief guest, Mayor Sadeque Hossain Khoka said around Tk 120 crore are needed to establish the Ahsania Mission Cancer Hospital, but around Tk 30 crore has been collected through lottery and donation.

He urged the city dwellers to come forward with a helping hand so that the hospital is completed in time.

Kazi Rafiqul Alam, president and chief executive of the Mission, thanked everyone who bought the lottery tickets and all those who extended their cooperation in holding the lottery programme.

Dr Enamul Haque, chairman of the lottery management committee and former inspector general of police, also spoke. Former secretary Fazlur Rahman, eminent industrialist Sibbir Mahmood and educationist Prof Nurul Islam were the members of the jury.

The winners have been requested to submit applications along with the original ticket and two photographs to the president and chief executive of the Ahsania Mission within a month to receive the prize money.
