Another murder case against former OC, 25 others
Khuku Rani Majumder, wife of slain Bidhan Chandra Majumder, filed the case on Sunday with Magistrate Zayedul Islam Bhuiyan against former OC Mohammad Ayub and others.
The magistrate took the case into cognisance and ordered the acting OC of Companyganj Police Station to file an FIR (first information report) against the accused.
Advocate Shankar Bhoumik, counsel for Khuku Rani, told reporters that Bidhan and four others were killed when police fired on local traders who laid a siege to the police station on October 20 to protest a robbery in a jewellery shop at Basurhat Bazaar.
The other accused include former sub-inspectors Shudhangsu Chakrabarty, Anisur Rasur Bhuiyan and Abu Ahmed and former assistant sub-inspectors Nirmalendu Chakma, Fakhrul Alam and Humayun Kabir.
On October 27, Abu Bakar Siddique, father of Alauddin, one of the dead, filed a murder case against the policemen.
