Arrest of killers of Badrul demanded
Teachers and students of Gazipur Cantonment Board School and College demonstrated in front of Gazipur Press Club yesterday in protest against the killing of Badrul Alam, a student of the institution.
They also submitted a memorandum to the deputy commissioner of Gazipur, demanding immediate arrest of and exemplary punishment to the killers. They also demanded compensation to the victim's family.
Principal of the college Khandaker Golam Mostafa led a procession from the college premises to the DC office to submit the memorandum.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Badrul Alam, a first year student of the college, was found dead at Sayedabad bus terminal in Dhaka on Sunday after he was abducted a week ago.
Police recovered the decomposed body stuffed in a suitcase abandoned in the bus terminal.
Family members said Badrul, son of schoolteacher Kamrul Haq Bhuiyan, had been abducted on April 2. A day later, an anonymous caller demanded a ransom of Tk 20 lakh from his father.
