Ashim on 2-day remand

Ashim was arrested from his Monipuri Para at Tejgaon in the early hours of Wednesday after the mother of victim Emon, filed a case against him. The mother of the three-and-a-half-year-old boy worked at Ashim's house as a domestic help.

During the interrogation, Ashim, a masters student of Tejgaon College, told police yesterday that he only slapped Emon because he did not prepare his lessons.

Anwara, however, told The Daily Star that Ashim never taught her son.
