Bangladesh Bank CBA leader suspended on charge of theft

Noushad Ali, an MLSS and joint secretary of the CBA, pocketed 23 notes of Tk 500 while making bundles of banknotes at around 11:00am, sources said.

While checking the bundles, a currency officer found that 23 banknotes have been missing. Later during a search, the notes were found in the possession of Noushad.

A high official of the bank said a committee will be formed soon to probe the incident and the final decision regarding Noushad will be taken on the basis of the committee's report.
