Bangladeshi killed by BSF

The victim was identified as Abdul Barek alias Chinu Mia, 45, son of Mozammel Haque of Naodapara border village.

According to BDR and local sources, the Indian border guards of Kochnipara outpost opened fire on Chinu when he reached near border pillar no 1063 at around 6:30am in response to the call of nature. Chinu died instantly.

Immediately after the incident, the BSF personnel entered Bangladesh territory and took away the body.

BDR strongly protested the killing and sent a letter asking its Indian counterpart to return the body. The BSF authorities did not respond as of 5:00pm yesterday.
