Bangladeshi shot dead by Indian forest guards

A Bangladeshi national was shot dead by Indian forest guards in Gachhuapara forest area in India yesterday.

The victim was identified as Tajuddin, 18, son of Abdul Jalil of Purba Gubrakura village under Haluaghat.

Police said the Indian forest guards shot Tajuddin after he entered into the Indian territory to collect firewood.

Locals rescued critically injured Tajuddin after he crossed the border and returned into Bangladeshi territory. He succumbed to his injuries on way to the hospital.

The body was sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
