BFUJ election on April 29
The biennial Representative Conference of the Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) will be held at the National Press Club in the city on April 12.
The election to the executive committee will be held on April 29.
A meeting of the executive committee held on March 21 with its President Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury took the decision.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Speaking at the meeting, BFUJ Secretary General Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul narrated the overall situation of the country and demanded implementation of 40 percent dearness allowances for the journalists by next month.
The meeting also demanded declaration of the Sixth Wage Board within the same period.
The meeting unanimously adopted a resolution demanding neutral probe and trial of the killings of journalists Shamsur Rahman, Manik Shaha, Dipankar Chakrabarty and Humayun Kabir Balu.
