Biman staffs protest move to privatise warehouse
Employees of Bangladesh Biman yesterday threatened to enforce tougher agitation if the decision to privatise its cargo warehouse and terminal management is not withdrawn by January 5.
Employees under the banner of Bangladesh Biman Sammilita Sangram Parishad also held a protest rally at Balaka lobby on Biman premises where leaders of the Parishad disclosed the irregularities of Bangladesh Biman.
"Bangladesh Biman had to incur a huge amount of loss due to lack of Hajj passengers. But the caretaker government did not take any action against the Hajj travel agencies although Hajj pilgrims did not get visas and 'tasria', documents for hiring residences in Saudi Arabia, in due time for the irregularities of the Hajj agencies," said Parishad President Captain Helal while addressing the rally.
Biman Employees' Union President M Rafiqul Islam also addressed the rally.
