Bomb hoax at Zia
Two bomb-like objects left at the Civil Aviation canteen of the Zia International Airport (Zia) sent panic waves among the airport officials, employees and passengers yesterday.
The bomb disposal unit of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab), however, confirmed that there were no explosive or bomb materials in the two containers.
Civil Aviation employees discovered the two one-litre containers covered with red tape at the canteen at around 1:00pm and informed police and Rab authorities immediately. The Rab took the two objects to its Headquarters at Kurmitola and found them filled with small stones, marble and soda.
