Bring attackers of Humayun Azad to book
They said the eccentric writer Azad became a victim of the extremists as he had fought during his whole life against religious extremism and communalism and to uphold the spirit of the liberation war.
They said Azad would live in the mind of the crores of Bangalees for his uncompromising writings, thoughts, creativity and spirit as long as the country exists.

Addressing the meeting as chief guest Justice Muhammad Habibur Rahman, former chief adviser of the caretaker government, said the country is now passing a hard time as those who laid the foundation of the country as well as the war heroes are being killed one after another.
He demanded immediate completion of trial of all cases that are under process and execution of their verdict.
Asma Kibria, wife of slain former finance minister Shah AMS Kibria, said, "People who had attacked Azad have also killed my husband in grenade attacks."
How many Azad and Kibria will be the victim of ill politics of the country, she questioned?
Asma urged all to be united to resist all evil powers in the country.
Anannya Azad, son of Humayun, said, "We still do not know the exact date of the death of my father and that is why we observe two days as his death anniversary."
"My father was never scared while telling the truth and that is why he was attacked by the extremists," he added.
Shamsuzzaman Khan, a prominent writer and columnist, said as the arrestees are the partners of the ruling coalition they are kept in an atmosphere of luxury.
"We will not get the trial of Azad until a mass revolution or a mass upsurge takes place in the country," he added.
Presiding over the meeting, Prof Anisuzzaman said Azad did a tough job of upholding the spirit of the liberation war at a time when it was being tarnished by vested quarters.
"The main strength of Azad was his courage," he said, adding that Azad was always vocal against religious fundamentalism and communalism.
Osman Gani, proprietor of Agamee Prakashani, demanded discussions on Humayun Azad in radio and television on the occasion of his death anniversary.
Monjur Kabir Matin, brother of Azad, Kabir Majumder, and friends and students of Azad also spoke.
Earlier, a book titled 'Evabe Mrittur Jonno Tomar Jonmo Hoiney (You are not born to die this way)' was handed over to Habibur Rahman and Anisuzzaman.
