British-Bangla Fusion Food Festival begins in Chittagong

A weeklong 'British-Bangladesh Fusion Food Festival' began at the Landmark Hotel and Restaurant at Agrabad in the port city yesterday.

Internationally acclaimed master chef Tommy Miah inaugurated the food festival.

President of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) Saifuzzaman Chowdhury and Director of Orbis Flying Eye Hospital Drew Boshell were present at the inaugural ceremony.

"I am very proud to be here in this charming city and hope to get great support and love from the people of Chittagong," Tommy told reporters after the inaugural ceremony.

He said, "Fusion food is cooked by mixing local food items with western foods. It is popular all over the world. And I came here to familiarise the people of Chittagong with the food items and cater to the need of the real food connoisseurs."

Mohammad Ohidul Alam, president of Landmark Hotel and Restaurant, said the festival would give a chance to the food lovers of the city to enjoy the excellent service and taste the quality food cooked by celebrity chef Tommy Miah.

The festival offers an array of food items, including Galouti Kebab, Barrah Baluchi, Macchi Malai Kebab, Spicy Garlic Mushroom, Green Fish Malai, Aromatic Chicken, Gosht Papani, Gosht Hindustani, Tarka Dhal, Aloo Jeera, Pilau Rice, Smoked Kebab Hilsha, Kachkombar Salad and Gajar Ka Halwa.

Tommy Miah will also host a celebratory banquet in honour of the Orbis

Flying Eye Hospital team at the festival venue on November 28.
