British Council Career Network launched

The BC Career Network, sponsored jointly by the British Council and GrameenPhone's youth brand package Djuice, would provide intending candidates for educational and professional examinations with an offer of integrated services.

The aim of the network is to bring together students who are studying for UK qualifications from Bangladesh to give extra support from the British Council and build long-term relationships, said the speakers at the launching ceremony.

By working in partnership with local providers and with the individual students, exam candidates will be offered a range of services based on their needs.

They will also be offered a forum in which they can network with their peers and future career contacts, they added.

Acting Director of British Council Bangladesh Richard Sunderland, Examinations Services Officer of British Council Shahin Reza, and GrameenPhone Head of Marketing Rubaba Dowla Matin spoke on the occasion.

Djuice would offer scholarships to three persons annually under the networking programme while SMS (Short Message Service)-based educational information, results, examination schedules and registration would be made available along with professional training and seminar in association with the British Council, said Rubaba.

It would cost Tk 1200 annually for Golden membership and Tk 1500 for Platinum membership to join the forum.
