BRTA introduces high security driving licenses

Communication Minister Nazmul Huda yesterday inaugurated the activities of issuing the high security driving licenses in the city. Earlier, BRTA signed an agreement in this regard with the National Database and Registering Authority of Pakistan and Opso Security Ink of USA, says an official handout.

Under the agreement, a total of 7.5 lakh high security licenses would be provided in next five years to both the professional and non-professional drivers.

The communication minister in his inaugural speech said high security driving licenses would increase road safety in the country and bring an epoch-making change in resisting road accident. "Reflective number plate will soon be launched for all road transports," he said.

Additional Secretary of the ministry MA Wahab, Chairman of BRTA Abu Bakar M Shahjahan and Director General of Pakistan National Database and Registering Authority Ali M Ahmed also addressed the function.
