BSF returns body of Bangladeshi farmer

The Border Security Force (BSF) of India returned the body of a Bangladeshi farmer through Baliadangi border in Thakurgaon on Thursday night.

BSF troops of Sonamati camp killed the farmer, Sadekul Islam, 26, son of Moslem Uddin of village Rotnai Kashibari, on Thursday while he was working on his paddy field.

According to the BDR and police, Sadekul was seriously injured in BSF firing and taken to India. Later, he was admitted to Islampur Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

BDR authorities of Rotnai outpost lodged a strong protest with BSF against the killing and asked them to return the body.

As per BDR proposal, a 30-minute flag meeting was held near the border where the Indian police handed over the body of Sadekul to Baliadangi police in presence of the BDR and BSF personnel.
