Budget fails to meet people's hope: Ershad
Jatiya Party (JP) chairman Hussain Muhammad Ershad yesterday said the last budget of the present government had failed to meet people's hopes and aspirations.
Ershad, also the former president said, "We hoped the prices of essentials would come down at least a bit following the budget announcement but prices rather had gone up due to full price rise."
He was speaking at a view-exchange meeting with Dhaka city unit leaders of his party at his Banani office where over fifty leaders and workers of Turag thana AL led by Alauddin Alal formally joined Jatiya Party (JP).

If there is no political consensus, stability in the society will remain a far cry, Ershad noted.
