Cabinet greets PM on election as Saarc chair

Prime Minister Khaleda Zia presided over the meeting held at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

The cabinet approved the draft of the Cable Television Network Law, 2005 in the interest of operating the TV networks in a systematic way.

It also okayed the draft of the Private Security Service Law, 2005 with the aim of ensuring the standard of private security service and running its activities smoothly.

The cabinet discussed in detail the draft of the Rivers, Floodplains and Waterbodies Protection, Development, Recovery and Filling Control Law, 2005. It decided to place the proposed draft law after further scrutiny, the handout said.

Cabinet members and concerned state ministers attended the meeting.

Cabinet secretary, principal secretary to the PMO and concerned secretaries were present.
