CG headed by President himself unconstitutional

In a joint statement, the teachers said the country people are surprised about his (President's) intention to be the chief of caretaker government instead of appointing an acceptable person in the post.

If the President takes the charge of caretaker government, it would be a "clear violation of the constitution", they said.

The signatories to the statement included Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique, Prof A K Azad Chowdhury, Dr Harun-or-Rashid, Prof Akhtaruzzaman, Prof. Abul Barakat, Prof Golam Rahman, Prof Sekandar Hayat Khan, Prof Mihir Laal Shaha, Prof Ramendra Nath Ghosh, Prof Chowdhury Zakaria, Prof Nurul Anwar, Prof Ayesha Siddiqa, Prof Manjurul Alam, Prof Abdul Mannan Chwodhury, Dr Prithila Naznin Nilima and Prof Sanat Kumar Shaha.
