City Bus Service enforces 12-hr strike in Ctg
Drivers and workers of Special City Bus Service yesterday enforced a 12-hour strike protesting the punishment of 17 drivers by a mobile court for reckless driving and violating traffic rules.
Thousands of commuters experienced untold sufferings due to daylong strike that started hours after a 36-hour countrywide hartal in the city and adjoining areas.
Sources said a mobile court led by Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) magistrate conducted three drives in last ten days and sentenced 17 drivers to imprisonment for reckless driving and illegal parking obstructing smooth vehicular movement.
