Civic education programme launched

The programme will enable the students to understand the constitution, national parliament and its activities, fundamental rights, human rights, civic duties, corruption and its impact and human trafficking, said the organisers.

Change Makers, a human rights organisation has organised the programme with the assistance of the American Centre.

Around 1600 students from 20 educational institutions have been participating in the programme titled 'Institutionalising democracy in Bangladesh: Civic education programme for high school and madrasa students.'

Whip Md Ashraf Hossain attended the inaugural function at Khulna Zila School as chief guest while Deputy Director of American Centre Dr Michelle Jones and Khulna Bar Association President Advocate Mujibur Rahman were present as special guests.

Change Makers President Advocate Tanbir ul Islam Siddiqui moderated the function.
