Construction worker falls from 6-storey building, dies

after falling down from a six-storey under-construction building in the city yesterday.

The accident occurred when Md Jewel, 30, and Keramat Ali, 42, were plastering the outside part of the building at Jatrabari at about 10:00am.

Both of them fell to the ground as the rope ladder hanging from the roof of the building snapped.

They were rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared Jewel dead.

Critically injured Keramat is now undergoing treatment there.
