Cop killed in road crash

Liton Chandra Sarker, 28, was killed in a road accident at Golganda area of the district town at around 11:00am.

Son of Sujon Chandra Sarker of Andharia village under Barhatta upazila in Netrokona district, Liton died on the spot when a sand-laden truck hit his motor-cycle from behind on Mymensingh-Tangail highway.

Police said ill-fated Liton was going to his new workplace at police training centre in Tangail after being transferred from Chittagong recently.
