Court orders MDs, doctors to submit statements by July 3
If they fail to submit their statements, the suit will continue in their absence, the court said.
Judge SM Rezaul Karim of the Third Joint District Judge's Court issued the order as the defendants did not submit their written statements even though 12 consecutive dates have already been passed since the date of their appearance before the court for contesting the suit.

The defendants yesterday submitted time petitions for filing the written statements on the next date.
The plaintiff, Mushfique Ahmad of 142/1 New Baily Road of Ramna, filed the suit on November 2 in 2004 claiming Tk 11 crore in compensation for the death of his mother Mushtari Begum, saying that she died at the Lab Aid Hospital on September 18, 2004 due to negligence of doctors.
Dr Shadeen Malik and Advocate Razia Sultana appeared for the plaintiff.
