Ctg court may frame charges against 8 JMB men today
A Chittagong court here is likely to frame charges today against eight Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) men, including its three top leaders Abdur Rahman, Siddiqul Islam alias Bangla Bhai and Ataur Rahman Sunny, in an explosives case.
Judge Mohammad Kawser of the First Additional Metropolitan Session Judge's Court will frame charges in presence of the accused, sources said.
The five other accused are JMB Chittagong Divisional chief Javed Iqbal alias Mohammad, Cox's Bazar Commander Naimuzzaman alias Jafar, JMB activists Rafiqul Islam, Jahidul Islam alias Mizan and Monirul Islam alias Saifullah.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. The court, however, could not ascertain whether the three top JMB leaders Rahman, Bangla Bhai and Sunny would be produced or not.
Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested Javed and Jafar with huge cache of explosives, bombs and other materials on the night of December 13 last year from a residence of Biswa Colony in city's Kotwali area under Pahartali Police Station.
