Danish envoy meets PM

Severin Munk, who have been here for nearly five years, thanked the Prime Minister for her government's cooperation in discharging his duties.

The Prime Minister also thanked the Danish envoy for his efforts to bolster the excellent bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Denmark, and extending Danish support to many areas in Bangladesh.

Denmark has been providing support to different fields and projects, including poverty reduction, rural development, agricultural development, water, sanitation and capacity building in private sectors.

Denmark is also cooperating with Bangladesh in skill development of manpower for overseas jobs through imparting training by local NGOs.

The PM said Denmark could also provide training at vocational training institutes in Bangladesh, which have various vocational curricula.

The Danish envoy praised Bangladesh's progress and success in poverty alleviation and expansion of education, particularly of women.
