Death anniversary of Sirajuddin Hossain today

He remained missing since the Pakistani forces and their collaborators, Razakars and Al-Badr, took him away from his Chamelibagh residence on this day in 1971.

His writings helped mobilise support for the War of Liberation.

A pioneer of investigating reporting, Sirajuddin was the executive and news editor of the daily Ittefaq.

A milad mahfil and discussion will be held at his residence at 3/11 Asad Avenue, Mohammadpur, after Maghrib prayers. Qurankhwani and milad mahfil will also be held at Shaheed Sirajuddin Hossain College in Khajura and at his village home at Sharusuna in Magura.
