Decision to bring fazil, kamil at par with honours, masters degrees protested
Progotishil Chhatra Jote, a combine of left-leaning student organisations, yesterday submitted a memorandum to the education ministry demanding cancellation of its decision to bring fazil and kamil degrees of madrasa at par with honours and masters degrees of university.
Earlier addressing a rally on Dhaka University (DU) campus, the combine leaders called for introduction of uniform education system in the country.
They said religion-based education is encouraging fundamentalism and communalism in the society.
