Declare Mar 13 as anti-terrorist day
On that day in 1992, BCU central committee member Main Hossain Raju, student of soil, water and environment department, was shot dead by what they said "Chhatra League cadres."
BCU along with Progotishil Chhatra Jote and other organisations began the day by placing wreaths in the morning at Raju's memorial at Teachers Students Centre where he was shot.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. To mark the occasion, a two-day anti-terrorism painting exhibition titled 'Raju Santrash Birodhi Bhashkarjo' was inaugurated by artist Hashem Khan and Nisar Hossain, associate professor of the Institute of Fine Art.
BCU also took out a procession and held a rally which was addressed by its central President Shamsul Alam Sazzan, General Secretary Khan Asaduzzaman Masum and DU unit President Manabendra Dev.
Today's programme includes debate competition and cultural function on the campus.
