Defamation suit against Manabjamin editor, publisher
A Dhaka court yesterday asked editor, publisher of the Manabjamin and its Daudkandi correspondent to appear before it on March 8, 2007 in a defamation case filed by former BNP lawmaker for publishing a defamatory report on December 4.
Metropolitan Magistrate ABM Abdullahel Baqui passed the order after Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad, filed the case with Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's (CMM), Court seeking warrant of arrest against the accused.
The accused are chief Editor Matiur Rahman Chowdhury, Publisher Mahbuba Chowdhury and Daudkandi correspondent Abdul Karim.
