Discussion on 'Kartini Network'

Women and Gender Studies Department of Dhaka University in cooperation with United Nations Information Centre, Dhaka, yesterday organised a discussion on 'Kartini Network' at IDB Bhaban in the city with the participation of different representatives of NGOs and donor agencies.

The discussant discussed about the potential area of cooperation with the department.

Dr Nazma Chowdhury, founding chairperson of Women and Gender Studies department, described the history of the department while Ayesha Banu, present chairperson of the department, discussed about the aim of Kartini Network.

Women for Women, Brac, Naripakkha, Transparency International, Bangladesh (TIB), Action Aid, Save the Children (UK) and (Sweden), Manusher Jonno, Marie Stope's Clinic, Uddipan, Disha, Breaking the Silence and Gender Studies department took part in the discussion.
