Doctors wife commits suicide in city
A woman committed suicide on Sunday night out of mental pains caused allegedly by her husband at Mirpur in the city.
Mariam Mukhtari Lazu, 22, wife of Dr Anam Ahmed, hanged herself from fan with her scarf in a closed room. When taken to Mirpur National Heart Foundation Hospital, on duty doctors declared her dead.
Mirpur police said two and half years ago Lazu and Dr Anam got married after having a love affair for quite some time.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Sunday evening, Lazu felt hurt over a comment by her husband on Lazu's sari, presented by her father. Afterwards when her husband and son went out of the house, Lazu committed suicide at around 9:00pm.
An unnatural death case was filed in Mirpur police station in this regard.
