Dr Manjusree Chowdhury passes away

She was admitted to hospital following a brain stroke on June 7, says a press release.

Dr Manjusree, author of about 20 books, taught at different government educational institutions during her long teaching career.

She received a number of awards for her contribution to literature as well as social development.

A contributor to different newspapers, she was also awarded 'Ratnagarva Ma' award.

Dr Manjusree is survived by her two sons -- Prof Dr Shuvagato Chowdhury and Prof Dr Arup Ratan Chowdhury -- and daughter Dr Madhusree Bhadra.

Chief Whip Khandaker Delwar Hossain has expressed deep condolence at the death of Dr Manjusree Chowdhury.

The country has lost a true patriot and noted educationist at her death, he said in a condolence message.
