DU female student commits suicide

Shilpi Rani Sarkar, 23, fourth year student of Botany department, took poisonous medicine at her room at about 6:00pm, said the students of the dormitory.

Roommates and other students rushed Shilpi to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where she died at 8:10pm, hospital sources said.

The students told the reporters that Shilpi took poison following a dispute over her love affair.

The body was sent to the morgue for autopsy.
