DU withdraws expulsion order against Oli Ahad after 58 years
Language movement veteran Oli Ahad, who was expelled from Dhaka University in 1948 for his involvement in the language movement, received a letter yesterday to his surprise from the university withdrawing the expulsion order after long 58 years.
The DU Syndicate at a recent meeting withdrew the expulsion order after the Prime Minister's Office sent a letter to the university authorities asking them to rescind the decision.
DU Vice Chancellor SMA Faiz went to the residence of Oli Ahad and handed over a letter to him regarding withdrawal of his expulsion.

On March 29, 1948, the then DU authorities expelled Oli Ahad from the university for four years for his involvement in the language movement.
