Duta demands arrest of JMB-linked ministers, Mps
Dhaka University Teachers' Association (Duta) yesterday demanded immediate arrest and exemplary punishment to the ministers and members of the parliament who patted and patronised the Islamic militants.
Duta President Prof Sharif Ullah Bhuiyan and General Secretary Prof Mohammad Akhtaruzzaman in a statement said, "We think a vested quarter in the government, who cherish the same ideology and goals as do the militants, has been carrying out militant activities across the country as part of their far-reaching plan."
They said the government at last was compelled to arrest a number of top militants following international pressure and through the arrest the government confessed existence of militancy in the country though earlier they termed the militants as media's creation.
