Education fair begins today

Chittagong City Mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury will inaugurate the fair as chief guest at the auditorium of Engineers' Institution at 2.00pm.

Emerge, a corporate communications and production company based in Dhaka, is organising the fair for the first time in Chittagong to provide students with accurate knowledge and orientation towards planning and building their career in future. Channel i and The New Age are the media partners of the fair.

While briefing newsmen at a press conference yesterday the organisers said around 40 to 45 institutions including universities and banks will take part in the fair.

"The fair will display graduate and undergraduate programmes offered by leading private universities including diploma programmes on fashion design and interior decoration, and consultancy services for foreign education," said Sabbir Rahman Tanim, chief executive officer of Emerge.

Besides, six workshops on international standard career planning have been arranged for visitors in the fair to be conducted by future leaders, he said.

Parag Dutta, head of operations, and M Rubaiyath Sarwar, head of strategy and creative, Nurul Alam, bureau chief of The New Age, and Chowdhury Farid, Chittagong correspondent of Channel i also spoke at the briefing.
