'Ensure right to edn of children with disability'
They also stressed that enough teaching resource should be ensured for the students with disability and their teachers should be trained to properly educate them.
Campaign for Popular Education (CAMPE) organised the two-day event on "Inclusive Education Focusing on Children With Disability (CWD)" under Bangladesh Education Programme (BEP) of Brac at the LGED auditorium in the city.
They expressed satisfaction over the performance of the students with disability in comparison to healthy students.
"The children with disability have the right to education and employment," said CAMPE Advisor ANM Yusuf. "They should not be treated with pity", he added.
Representatives of different donor associations, NGO, civil society, government organisations, and educationists took part in the programme.
CWD education programme manager of Brac, Limia Dewan told the Daily Star that although they faced many difficulties since the inception of CWD education programme in 2004, the programme could be called successful as 1400 students with disability under their supervision were able to complete the primary education in the last one year.
