Extortionists stab bank officer, his brother in Munshiganj
A gang of extortionists stabbed a bank officer and his brother at Purbo Deobhog in the town yesterday, leaving them critically injured.
The injured were identified as Ashrafuzzaman Mokhter, 28, an officer of Uttara Bank, and Ahsan Habib Monir, 26.
Police said some local youths demanded toll from Ashrafuzzaman who was constructing a building in the area. As he refused to pay toll, the youths stabbed him and his brother around 12:00noon.
