Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) yesterday demanded fair distribution of VGF rice among the distressed people at free of cost.

Addressing a meeting in Sirajganj on Saturday, the CPB leaders called for introducing permanent rationing system in monga-affected areas.

They also demanded punishment to those involved in politicisation and corruption with regard to the distribution of VGF cards.

CPB central leader Ruhin Hossain Prince said the coalition government is killing people through bomb attacks and price hike of foodstuffs.

He called upon people to make one-hour street demonstration demanding prevention of monga, reduction of prices of essentials and protection of life across the country on October 16.

Presided over by Ismail Hossain, president of Sirajganj CPB, the meting was also addressed by Shaidullah Sabuj, Wazed Ali and Monowarul Islam.
