Filipino envoy calls on Hasina
Outgoing Philippines Ambassador Jose Lino B. Guerrero yesterday made a farewell call on Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Sheikh Hasina and exchanged views on bilateral matters as well as current political developments in Bangladesh.
Awami League General Secretary Abdul Jalil, Kazi Zafrullah MP, Syed Abul Hossain MP and former Ambassador Zaiuddin were also present.
Jalil emerging from the meeting told the journalists that they discussed how to further improve bilateral cooperation between the two countries. The Ambassador hoped that "democracy would be further strengthened" in the country, ensuring economic development.
