Flood situation remains static in Sylhet

Superintending Engineer of Water Development Board (WDB) told The Daily Star yesterday that the situation is yet to be improved as water is still rolling down from the upper stream.

All the rivers are still flowing above the red mark, said (WDB) officials.

Water had receded from many areas in the city while the situation remained static in most of the upazilas.

Low lying areas of Beanibazar, Gowainghat, Jaintapur, Kanaighat, Companiganj, Jakiganj and Sylhet sadar upazilas are still under water.

Road link between Gowainghat upazila and the district headquarter remains snapped.
