FM asks int'l community to help achieve MDGs
He was speaking at the Ministerial Session of the Group of 77 Meeting in New York on the sidelines of the 60th United Nations General Assembly.
The minister drew the attention of the Group to the condition of the most economically vulnerable nations like the Least Developed Countries (LDCs).
As agreed, the developed countries should provide 0.2 percent of GNP to the LDCs as official assistance, the LDCs should have duty-free and quota-free access for all of their products to all markets and all official debts of LDCs should be cancelled, he said.
Dr Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury, ambassador and permanent representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations, was present at the meeting, chaired by Jamaican Foreign Minister Keith Knight.
