"It is not the clash of religions, rather harmony of religions which can unite the perceived divides amongst us based on religions. We can bridge the gap and work together for peace and harmony," he told reporters at Zia International Airport prior to his departure for Rome en route to Malta where he will lead Bangladesh delegation to the Commonwealth Summit.
Morshed said: "Time has come when all faiths and all religions should work together in true spirit of mankind as all religions preach peace and humanity."
He said it is important that the Muslims and the Christians play a responsible role in bridging the perceived religious divides and jointly face the terrors for the sake of world peace.
The foreign minister will meet the new religious leader of the Catholic Church today.
